I've been lusting after this River Island floral print blazer for a while; the colour and print definitely make it a great summer piece, as well as the flattering 3/4 length sleeves. I'd wear it with tailored shorts and summer dresses, or jeans and wedges in the evening for a smart-casual outfit. It's fairly formal, but can easily be dressed down, or can make a very simple/lazy day outfit a bit more interesting.
Rokit is one of my favourite vintage shops, and whenever I'm in London I always find myself in one of their Covent Garden, Camden or Brick Lane shops. Denim jackets are a timeless summer classic, but a vintage one has a bit more character, especially one like this with it's embellishment. Although double denim is a daring look, I think it's always one to try, but to play it safe, I usually wear one with a dress or playsuit.
For something with a bit more structure, Zara jackets are always beautifully fitted so that they are comfortable and easy to wear. The bright colour and studs on this jacket make it stand out, but the 3/4 sleeves and way it can be casually worn unzipped make it more relaxed. Colour is really important in summer wardrobes, so if you need to add some to yours, then investing in a bright jacket could be a really good choice. I also love the pockets, as I hate keeping my phone and iPod in my bag; I can never find them!
As it gets warmer, sometimes wearing a jacket can be a bit of a chore, so I wear a lot of over-sized vintage cardigans. You can put them over jeans and t-shirts, or dresses and sandals, and left unbuttoned they look casual and summery. This one is from Beyond Retro and was only £14, but you can always find them cheaply in charity shops. For some tips on charity shop shopping, see Ellie's post!
So to keep my mood up in this rubbish "summer" weather, I am definitely going to invest in one of these lovelies! If you have any suggestions of other good summer jackets, I'd love to hear from you :-)
