Brave Facing

I've had a pretty tough few days as I got some really sad news this weekend, and have realised life doesn't really stop for anything.. Everyone still had to get up for school/work on Monday, daily routines continued, and I felt awful for the people oblivious to what had happened who accidentally set me into floods of tears. I realised that donning the leggings & jumpers, neglecting the make up, and eating rubbish was not going to make me feel better. In the face of sadness, you've got to get up, keep your chin up, and try and get through it. But keep hold of your friends hands, they've always got your back.
How to brave face
1. I always have painted nails - they haven't been bare since I was about 9, and this will never change. So whack out the varnish; the little things matter.
2. Grooming- I took this to a bit of an extreme and decided to go to the extent of fake tanning. In november... In simpler terms, just do your hair nicely, make a bit of an effort - focusing on something will make you feel better.
3. Smile - it's the hardest thing to do when you're feeling awful inside, but it's ok to laugh! Remember that people are on your side, and don't be afraid to ask for help if you need it.
4. Sleep. I have not felt this tired since summer festivals of no sleep, and I've been getting around 12 hours a night! Realise that you can't manage everything, and take it easy. Better to do less than wear yourself out.
5. Talk - to friends/family, anyone! Either get things off your chest, or catch up on gossip if you want a distraction. Don't close yourself off and hide away!
