Lucy Rose
Last night Lucy Rose played to a sold out crowd at the Norwich Arts Centre and was fab! I'm a big fan of her music, and have been listening to her since she featured on some of Bombay Bicycle Club's tracks. She's since realised an album (pretty sure I've already written about it somewhere on here...), but if you haven't heard it Like I Used To is definitely one of my favourite albums at the moment! Just ordered it (CD's rule.) from amazon and am already excited for it's delivery having used up all my listens on Spotify. Anyway! Last night, she was supported by Pete Roe who was an absolute sweetheart. He has a really beautiful voice, and is a great song writer; I'm looking forward to hearing more from him - he's hoping to release an album in Feb 2013. Lucy = Perfection. Her voice is heaven, and her lyrics are so real I feel like she's singing about my life half the time. All I've Got and First were highlights, but she did a brilliant set of just over an hour. Also, this lovely lady sells her own blend of tea (half Earl Grey & half English Breakfast, tried it today - yum!) and makes her own jam for merchandise, as she had nothing to sell when she first started. Like the creativity a lot! It's a great venue too; pretty intimate with a capacity of only 300, I love seeing bands there. Also, well done to the Shaker/Keyboard/Cello player, who had pretty severe eyebrows but took her shaker responsibilities very seriously! Lovely lovely evening was had, and thank you Lucy! Keep making lovely music, good luck with the rest of the tour, and come back to Norwich soon :-)
