My lovely cousin is getting married in just a few weeks now (WOO!), and so last weekend was her hen do. Sadly I missed out on the go-ape tree top challenge (probably a wise move due to the snow...), but in the evening we met for food/drinks/hilarity & a great night out! The theme was *drumrollllllll* Punk. Being the youngest of the bridesmaids (and I think the youngest one there overall..) I think I was born a little too late to really get the punk thing.. But we borrowed, bargain hunted and blagged our outfits together and here was the result!
(My sis left, Bride Annie middle, me right)
Studded accessories, tartan trousers and leather were what I went for in the end, but there was lots of tartan, denim, safety pins, doc martins. It was pretty impressive, and despite initial hesitation, a brilliant theme!
The next BIG news is about the Royal Parks Half Marathon. I posted a few weeks ago that I'd signed up to do it (simply to prove a point, as someone told me I'd never actually do it). Although I didn't get a place in the initial ballot, it's worked out so much better as I am now running on behalf of The Stroke Association. A very special relative died a few months ago of a stroke, and my grandma is currently in hospital recovering from one. Before this, it was never a charity I'd heard much about or seen fundraising events for, so I'm really pleased to be able to run for such a great organisation. There'll also be a lot of personal motivation to train and fundraise which will really help too! (Although I am a little daunted.. 13.1 miles seems a lot longer now!)
Last big update is that yesterday me & my friend Alex booked our flights for our summer trip round East Europe! We're flying into Budapest, visiting Mostar, Kotor, Sarajevo, Dubrovnik, Split Islands, Zadar as well as lots of towns/lakes on the way, and finishing up in Zagreb. I'm SO excited - next on the to do list is researching train tickets. And then start sorting summer outfits.....
Big rambley jumble of a post! X
