Dancing in the drizzle....

Someone seems to have forgotten to let the sun know that it's June, so I've been running around town with an umbrella and welly boots! (They're Vivienne Westwood so it's not so bad....) So despite this rubbish (but typical) british weather, on top of going back to sixth form today, I've been keeping myself in a good mood with a few classic tunes! These 5 are my ultimate favourites which always get me dancing, no matter where I am or what I'm doing, so I hope they help cheer you (and the weather) up too :-)
Tina Turner - Proud Mary This woman is unbelievable - her voice is unbeatable, her moves are outstanding, and her energy is endless! I love that this song starts so chilled, lulling you into sense of security that you can keep your heels on for the entire song, until it picks up and goes crazy! Singing into my hairbrush and doing some crazy Tina-esk moves is such a great start to a drizzly day!

Curtis Mayfield - Move On Up Possibly one of my all time favourite songs, I always wack out the cheesy dance moves for this classic! A proper feel good song, my dad also loves a bit of Mayfield, so occasionally we have to have a dance off (I always win..)!

Paolo Nutini - Pencil Full Of Lead As far as I'm concerned, this man is a musical God! Although I love his slower songs (especially on his first album), this song just makes any problem seem insignificant, and reminds me of the simple things I take for granted! I saw Paolo playing at Latitude festival last summer, and it was definitely a highlight of my summer; he's an amazing showman, and the crowd atmosphere was amazing! I have some really great memories with this song, of the summer and a particular P.E. lesson....

Beyonce - Crazy In Love There's no denying Ms. Knowles is an incredible dancer, and attempting the Beyonce Shake in heels around my room always cheers me up! This song is pretty timeless, it's been a huge hit since 2003, and everytime it comes on shuffle when I'm walking along, I (shamelessly) have to put on a bit of a strut for my girl Bey!

Rusted Root - Send Me On My Way This song always reminds me of the summer! It's more chilled but  so happy and sweet, and the video makes me want to get out a bongo and have a little jam! Definitely a good song for laying around in the sun and doing nothing!
