Investment Items

Whilst watching the first Sex & The City movie the other day (swoooon), me and my friend Yaz realised there are just some items of clothing that are worth investing in. Obviously, in an ideal world spending £300 on a pair of shoes would be a standard Saturday affair (Bradshaw style), but realistically, as someone who seems incapable of saving even £40 for a pair of jeans, this won't be happening anytime soon... So instead, I've made a list of items that are worth properly investing in, rather than scrimping and going to Primark instead...
First up, the leather jacket. Having shed their 'only for rock 'n' rollers' reputation, they have quickly become a wardrobe staple. This could be for the fact they're great for all different types of weather, go with pretty much anything, and look like you've made an effort even on slouchy days. After thinking about it, I don't really know how I've survived this long without one! So whilst a less expensive faux leather one is good for us cheapskates, I think in this case it may be necessary to part with a little more, as it's something I can wear forever... Here are some of my faves!

Next, a real string of pearls. In the film, Carrie wears hers with girlie dresses, jeans and a jacket, and even her pyjamas. That is taking nightwear to a whole new level! They are also a timeless classic, and so luxurious. Sadly these are way way more expensive, but it is easier to find look-a-likes, but one day hopefully I'll be able to invest in some real ones!

Finally, an absolute classic - black leather bag with gold chain. I have a little brown vintage one which is cute and I wear quite a lot, but to have a real one would be amazing! I'd have to be pretty careful though - no more loose pieces of gum/old receipts/lipglosses being carelessly thrown in!
