Oldies
Such a brilliant song!! Even just the first few seconds of the introduction get me in a strutting mood.....
Cheese
Amerie - Gotta Work -when the walk home seems a bit too long/general don't give up song
This is so shameful.... But for these two songs alone, I have a Keri Wilson weakness..
Rap (A few classics!)
Classics
Toploader - Dancing In The Moonlight This song is too good. When the sun is shining, after a lovely day, it's just what I want to listen to!
Calvin Harris - The Girls (dedicated to Yaz)
Hall & Oates - You Make My Dreams Mainly because of '500 Days Of Summer', I always want to start clicking & burst into dance when this comes on...
Jet - Are You Gonna Be My Girl The tambourine gets me every time....
Fountains Of Wayne - Stacey's Mom (I know an unacceptable amount of the lyrics considering I was 13 when this came out...)
Destiny's Child - Soldier
Less Shameful
The Black Keys - Next Girl/Lonely Boy/She's Long Gone/Howlin' For You
'Brothers' is such a good album, I'd say the whole thing is good for this type of music, but these songs in particular are my fave Black Keys for powering through... Also the man in the video for Lonely Boy is my idol.
The Strokes - Someday/Last Nite/Trying Your Luck
Again, I would say the whole of the 'Is This It' Album is a good choice for when you're in this mood, but these are absolutely golden!
The Hives - Hate To Say I Told You So/ Won't Be Long
Iggy Pop - The Passenger
This also doubles up as my revision/working/running playlist from time to time, as they're the kind of tunes that give you that extra bit of motivation :-) This post also ended up a lot longer than I meant it to, but once I got started I couldn't stop thinking of songs!
