Post Reading Blue

It's taken me a while to get round to this post - firstly because I've been busy catching up with reality, secondly because I managed to sleep for 2 days solidly (apparently I had "delayed exhaustion" - great name for a lazy day), and finally because I didn't want to admit to myself that Reading is actually over :-( This is possibly my worst case of Festival Blues yet, and I'm not handling it very coolly. We have the Foo Fighters blaring out most mornings, i-Player replays of Florence & The Machine are non stop, and I'm refusing to eat anything that actually constitutes as a hot meal/needs to be eaten with real cutlery - body hasn't quite adjusted to normality! There were a few surprises musically - I was expecting HUGE things from The Cure & The Black Keys, but both were slightly disappointing (first was just far too long, and the second I'm hoping was just because of where we were standing - just seemed quiet!), whilst I was too bothered about Kasabian or The Foo Fighters before we went, but both were incredible! So much so that me & my friend Nell actually teared up at Dave Grohl singing Times Like These ... Also found that it wasn't as scary as we thought! Loads of our friends said we were going to die before we left (great vote of confidence..) but we survived and stayed in one piece! If you didn't catch any of the coverage on the BBC over the weekend, I'd definitely recommend catching up with it on i-Player. I'm planning on reliving it all (for the 100th time) time while I nurse myself back to health!
