Summer Of Songs

It's been an amazing summer (and writing this is making me sad/happy looking back over the last few months). I'm so lucky to have been able to go to Playfest, Latitude & Reading, as well as a beautiful week in Barcelona, and to generally have such a laugh with my lovely friends! I've made my Top 12 - the twelve songs that best describe this summer for me. Have a go! Make a list of 12 & give a reason for each one :-)

This song got me through exams revision! Everytime I started giving up the will to live I wacked this one really loudly & had a good dance. "Sometimes You Gotta Work Hard For It" - and I'm so glad I did!
This cover was recorded whilst I was revising, and I can't believe how beautiful it is. I love the original due to a certain dance group created around it at a party (Green Strawpedo's forever), but this cover is something incredible.
Dumbfoundus covering Inner Circle - Sweat
At Playfest this somehow become our Tents anthem, and the weekend was topped off when, as their encore on the Main Stage, Dumbfoundus sung this dedicated to my friend Ellie!
This ones slightly silly, but it's practically my friend Yaz's theme tune, and everytime it comes on shuffle or we're having a girls night, the dance moves come out...
This is too beautiful. Hearing him singing it at Latitude was amazing, and probably my highlight of the weekend!
Reading's highlight!! This was amazing, I can't even begin to describe the atmosphere! Me & my friend Nell were tearing up, a memory I'll have forever!
This is just one of those songs that always comes out on our summery evenings when we're sitting round chatting/having a few drinks - as soon as this comes on, we're on our feet dancing!
Despite not being in the tent for Green Day's set at Reading, it was shown on the Main Stage, and there was a huge crowd dancing & singing, it was hilarious! Very happy morning :-)
So beautiful!! Despite the rain, this was amazing at Reading. It's a bit cheesy, but there's been some horrible goodbyes this summer, and this song reminds me that despite the distance, they're always there.
This is really lovely. We stood in the rain at Latitude Main Stage watching Michael & his band, and this had every swaying and hugging, really lovely!
Toooooo good. Me & Ellie were on the barrier for this set at Reading, and this song in particular was amazing.
Despite being slightly let down by their set at Reading, I absolutely adore The Black Keys! Musically it was great, the crowd just wasn't right for it. They still make it into my Top 12 because their album has been on repeat pretty much all summer, and this song especially!

That's my Top 12! What's yours? I hope you've all had an amazing summer! :-)
