Barcelona :-)

This week I got my photos from trip to Barcelona developed, and it's making me want to go back so much! If you've ever been I'm sure you'll agree what an incredible city it is, and if you haven't, try and go!! There's so much to see and do, but we still managed to relax and have a break which was perfect. We were staying in an ideal location, 100m from the beach and about 800m from the nearest metro stop so we could pop into central Barcelona really easily. We visited a lot of sights, including the famous Sagrada Familia which was impressive, but not at all what I expected inside! We spent a beautiful morning at Park Guell, an incredible place filled with beautiful designs and colours. It's a really inspiring place, and there were musicians dotted about busking which added to the loveliness. We wandered down La Ramblas (a large bustling street in the middle of the city) several times, and discovered a food market just to the side of it. There were stalls and stalls of sweets, cheeses, meats, and so much fresh fruit! These juices were all freshly prepared and chilled in ice - one for a euro, and they were absolutely delicious! We also had tapas and drinks here one night which was amazing, and the atmosphere around the area was great! Of course we spent a lot of time just lazing on the beach too.... Had some beautiful meals, including a black paella with rabbit, chicken, cod, and squid which was absolutely incredible and me & my sister still talk about (We're huge food lovers!). If you're looking for a bustling city break, Barcelona is definitely the place! It's known for its great nightlife (although sadly we didn't get to sample much of this, so a return trip is obviously essential), but if you just want to relax, the beach and sights are wonderful!
