Books

I'm currently procrastinating hugely from writing an essay due in tomorrow for my English teacher, but feel like this is a productive use of the time, as I am technically still writing about books (just not my set texts....). I thought I'd do a quick post about some books I'm currently reading, as it's quite a variety at the moment which I'm really enjoying. I've also given up on magazines (haven't bought Bazaar or Elle for months!) until the end of this year in an attempt to save money and reading time... We'll see how long that lasts!

So, at the moment I'm reading Lolita which I'm finding a pretty tough read as it's so dense, and to be honest I can't get past the feeling that it's just really disturbing. It's very interesting, and will help me this year as my theme for the year is Love, so a good one to talk about, but it's taking me a while to get through!
I'm also reading Peter Pan! My mum bought me this beautiful Cath Kidston edition for my birthday, with pictures and a protective case, and I absolutely love it. It's one of my favourite stories, but I realised I haven't actually read it myself ever, and so for a bit of escapism from work and UCAS applications, it's a nice one to snuggle down with :-)
Finally, I also got given this book of Shakespeare's Sonnets & A Lover's Complaint for my birthday. I'm trying to read a few a day, and am really enjoying it so far. It's a great one for my course again, but just also so lovely to read.

So that's my reading material for the moment, whilst reading Dorian Gray, Streetcar Named Desire, and Othello over and over for my coursework. I'm loving the variety! Sadly the procrastinating needs to come to an end really so I can speed type this essay, wish me luck! X
