Standard Tuesday.
Today has been a really fulfilling day :-) Although big things like passing your exams, a new job, or getting into the uni you want are huge triumphs, I love the day to day victories; the day I learnt to blow bubbles in chewing gum was such a good one, & the day I learnt to whistle... But today was also a really good one. For the first time, I drove completely alone. I know that this is a very standard occurrence, and most people would be really unimpressed, but driving along with cheesy music made me realise that compared to where I was this time last year, I've come a long way! I didn't crash/kill anyone/squash a squirrel, and as far as I'm concerned, that's an achievement. I help out in a year 7 English class; today a boy who really struggles with reading read a whole chapter of a book to me! He stumbled over the words, and it took a while, but when we got to the end he gave a big sigh of relief & smiled, that was a great moment. And I helped one of the kids find a poem that he was so proud of, he said he wanted to take it home & show his mum. If you only appreciate the big things in life, you spend a hell of a long time waiting around; enjoy & appreciate the little ones, they're the things that make your day :-)
