The Boston Marathon bombing on Monday was shocking & awful - over 170 people were injured and 3 people were killed in an event which should have been a great celebration both for the participants and the city itself. With the London Marathon coming up this Sunday, it's understandable that people are feeling anxious. My history teacher is running on Sunday for Bliss Baby Charity, but his family aren't going to watch due to Monday's events. It's sad that for those who've worked & trained so hard that the day is going to be shadowed with doubt & concern. But I hope that if any of you are taking part you embrace the occasion and enjoy the day. Boston's events were a true tragedy, & I'm sure most people's thoughts will be with those affected on Sunday, but those runners are doing something truly amazing as far as I'm concerned, and it should be celebrated.
