RunRunRun

Watching the London Marathon yesterday, I was sobbing sad/happy tears hearing the incredible stories of those taking part. I think it's so inspiring what people will put themselves through to show how much they care It has to be one of the most self-less things anyone could do... Also, those who did it in fancy dress are even more impressive as it was pretty toasty yesterday!

One day I'd love to finish a Marathon, but for now I'm getting pretty excited about running the Royal Parks Half in London in October. Tomorrow I'm visiting my Nana in hospital; having suffered a stroke a few weeks ago, she & my great aunt Sally are my motivation for completing the Half. My sister is also running the Sheffield half marathon in just two weeks for The Stroke Association too! Thank goodness I've got a bit longer to train...!

I love that with running you can literally start anytime. Up until a month ago, the idea of running made me feel physically sick - I wouldn't even run for a bus! Which is probably why most of my friends thought I was crazy for signing up for the half ... as did the people in the sports shop I had to brave to get trainers... but yesterday I ran 5 miles without stopping! I know I've got a long way to go, but for me it's a pretty big milestone :-) Having a reason to run makes it that much easier to man up & put the shoes on.. X
