I can't believe I haven't yet done a post on my one true love - zumba! As an exercise-phobic with a loyalty to all things greasy & unhealthy, I realised last year it really wasn't acceptable anymore.. So, with some arm pulling and feet dragging, my mum got me to go to a Zumba class with her, and I'm so glad I did! If you haven't tried it before, I'd say it's definitely worth giving it a go, even just for a laugh. They had free classes at Playfest which I went to earlier this summer, which helped get rid of the hangover, and get us out of the tent in the morning! For an hour, you get to do crazy dancing to ridiculously loud and cheesy music, and no one judges you! I'm not great on hand-eye coordination, but the routines are repetitive and simple, making it easy to pick up, and you can always make them slightly easier if you're struggling/harder if you're finding it too easy... Take a friend, some water and a smile, and see what you think! Here's an example - imagine 30 women doing this, it's so much fun!
Today, I'm braving a new class - the bikini body group... It's our usual hour of Zumba, followed by half an hour of aerobics, and then half an hour of toning. I'm slightly scared (two hours of high energy/intense exercise for a person who prefers PJ's and tea to running shoes and lucozade!), but hoping the motivation to get into shape will pull me through.. Also having broken my non-drinking rule the other day (I'm too ashamed to actually do a whole post on it, so will just admit it here), I feel like the least I can do is two hours a week - and then surely I can slack off the rest of the time?! We'll see how it goes..... Wish me luck!X
