DIY Fashionista

I've been an avid follow of Geneva Vanderzeil's blog A Pair And A Spare for a while now. Turning catwalk trends into pieces you can make yourself with a few easy instructions (including some simple sewing and glueing), this girl is really inspiring. She makes it all look so easy! And she's just realised a book, DIY Fashionista with 40 of her projects in. I'd say it's a definite investment, as you can save masses in the long run; instead of spending £30 on a new shirt just for the leather collar detailing, following Geneva's instructions and you can make your own for a fraction of the price! & you can get away with most of them without a sewing machine!

I've done a bit of reading about this lady to, and I have to say she's pretty cool; originally from Australia, she now lives in Hong Kong and has featured in magazines including Grazia, Vogue Australia & Cosmopolitan - what a claim! She's a Masterplanner by day (I think that's a townplanner..), but also contributes to Harper's Bazaar & her blog. This is one women who knows how to multitask! Have a read and see what you think :-)
